SB 81 (2011) and HB 970 (2013) made it legal for entrepreneurs to sell low-risk foods made in their home kitchens. The law restricts those homemade goods to a very specific list, including baked goods that do not require refrigeration. It also requires specific labeling, including a disclaimer that our products are made in a facility that is not inspected or regulated by the health department. It also requires that all payments for products MUST be made/accepted at our home or at one of the farmers markets where we are set up. |
